Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength 2025 is a limited-edition Islay single malt, a higher-strength version of the regular Machir Bay. It is bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle, rather than the usual 46%, and was made to give a more intense coastal peat smoke. The whisky was matured in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is bold and smoky, with sweet vanilla and caramel, citrus and tropical fruit, and hints of floral and mineral notes. The palate is full-bodied and warming, with creamy malt sweetness, maritime peat smoke, fresh and candied citrus, toffee and subtle spice. The finish is long, with smoke giving way to vanilla, toasted coconut and a soft saline note.
