This is the third edition of Kilchoman's Port Cask Matured series, an Islay single malt bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release and the whisky is peated.
It is fully matured in refill Ruby Port hogsheads, and draws on stocks from the two earlier editions: whisky of nearly 10 years old from 2014 and 6 year old whisky from 2018.
The nose brings red berries, figs, citrus, cinnamon and smoked paprika. On the palate there are cooked strawberries, smoked meats, sweet tobacco and charcoal smoke, and the finish is warming, fruity and ashy.
