This is the 2023 Kilchoman PX Sherry Cask release, an Islay single malt bottled at 50%.
It was matured entirely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for five years, and is the first limited edition from the distillery to be fully matured in this type of cask.
The nose has sweet sultanas and raisins with rounded peat smoke, liquorice and a hint of citrus sweetness. On the palate come brown sugar and malty sweetness, then orange peel, dark chocolate and waves of sherry sweetness. The finish brings chocolate-coated raisins, oak smoke, mixed spices and lasting PX sweetness.
