The 2024 edition of Kilchoman's Sanaig, an Islay single malt bottled at a cask strength of 57.8% ABV. It was matured in a combination of bourbon barrels and sherry hogsheads, and is peated to roughly 50 ppm.
It is a limited annual release, with natural colour and no chill-filtration.
The nose has rich peat smoke, raisins, figs, dark chocolate, caramel and maritime notes. The palate shows sherry-led dried fruit, cocoa, toffee, spice and warm smoke over a bourbon vanilla base. The finish is long and smoky, with dark chocolate, oak, sherry sweetness and peat.
