Kilkerran – 8 Year Old Bourbon Cask CS (70cl)

Kilkerran 8 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt matured in bourbon casks, in a 70cl bottle. It is made at Glengyle, which was revived by Hedley Wright, great-grandson of the founder William Mitchell and a director of J&A Mitchell & Co, owners of Springbank. The name comes from the Gaelic Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain, the place where the monks of Saint Kieran, originally from Ireland, settled in Campbeltown. Work on the new distillery began in February 2001, with second-hand stills bought from Ben Wyves and larch washbacks of 30,000 litres each fitted in January 2004. The first new make was filled into cask in May 2004.
