Killowen – 'Rum & Raisin' Peated Irish Single Malt

Killowen Rum & Raisin is a peated Irish single malt from the Killowen Distillery in the Mourne Mountains, County Down, Northern Ireland. The distillery was founded by Brendan Carty, who set out to make Irish whiskey the way it used to be made. The malt is distilled in small batches in copper pot stills and matured in selected oak casks. It is then finished first in a dark rum cask, which adds a Caribbean note, and then in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, which brings sweeter notes. This version is lightly peated.
