King of Scots 50 Years Old is a blended Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was released for the company's 75th anniversary in 2023. The King of Scots brand is the one with which Fred Douglas Laing began the business in 1948. Only 2,150 bottles were produced.
On the nose are juicy apricots, orchard fruit and a rich, cereal sweetness. The palate brings custard, honey, malt and dried fruit. The finish is long, with charred oak, vanilla pods and candied apples.
