Knockando 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The name is said to come from the Gaelic for 'small black hills'.
It matures for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks, which give it caramel and vanilla notes. It is made from barley malt, yeast and spring water from the Cardnach spring. The colour is light gold.
The nose is fruity, with fine toffee, cereal, almond and hazelnut. The palate is floral and almost creamy, sweet with a subtle spice. The finish is medium in length, with malt, dark chocolate, nuts and a little menthol.
