Knockando 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of 15 years in casks that previously held sherry and bourbon. It is made from malted barley, yeast and water from the Cardnach spring in the hills above the distillery.
The share of sherry casks is kept limited so that it does not overpower the whisky, and the peat used in malting is carefully controlled. The colour is amber.
The nose brings baked fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate and sherry, and the palate returns to baked apples with raisins. The finish is long, with wood and sweet spice.
