Knockando 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for eighteen years in European oak casks that previously held sherry. The distillery was built by John Thompson in 1898 and stands in the village of the same name, on a bend of the River Spey. Knockando usually states the vintage as well as the age on its standard bottlings. The peat used in malting is carefully controlled, and the share of sherry casks is kept restrained so that they do not dominate. The colour is a natural pale amber. The nose offers ripe plums, pears, mandarins and soft vanilla fudge. The palate is velvety, with almonds, raisins and apricots, a little pepper and fresh grass. The finish is warm and soft.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
