Kura Japanese Malt (70cl, 40%)

Kura is a Japanese malt whisky from Helios Distillery, finished in rum casks and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled entirely in Japan, rather than made from imported whisky aged there. Peat from Hokkaido gives the nose a briny, mossy character, while the palate brings spicy oak and the soft sweetness of the rum casks. It is described as an easy-drinking peated whisky with a good balance between the two.
