Kura Pure Malt is a blended malt whisky from Helios Distillery in Okinawa, Japan, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle.
The spirit is matured in American white oak, then finished in used Japanese rum casks that have been seasoned for up to 21 years. The blend also includes peat from Hokkaido.
The nose is gentle peat smoke with a trace of iodine, sea salt and vanilla. The palate is sweet with honey, melon and tropical fruit, alongside candied ginger and cinnamon. The finish is moderately long, smoky and slightly bittersweet.
