Nikka Frontier is a Japanese whisky from Nikka, bottled at 48% in a 50cl bottle.
The company goes back to Masataka Teketsuru, born in 1894 into a family that had been making sake since 1733. His first employer sent him to Scotland in 1918 to learn distilling and whisky production. On his return to Osaka he built the first whisky distillery in Japan, and in 1934 he decided to go his own way and look for the best site to make Japanese whisky.
