Nikka – from the Barrel (50cl, 51.4%)

Nikka from the Barrel is a Japanese whisky from Nikka, bottled at 51.4% in a 50cl bottle. Behind the brand is Masataka Teketsuru, born in 1894 into a family that had been making sake since 1733. He travelled to Scotland in 1918, sent by his first employer to learn whisky production and distillation. He came back to Osaka and built the first whisky distillery in Japan. In 1934 he chose to work independently and look for the ideal location for a Japanese whisky.
