L'Encantada XO is a cask-strength Bas-Armagnac bottled at 46.7% in a 75cl bottle. It is blended from four casks aged 20 to 30 years, all from a single vintner, and bottled without added sugar, caramel colouring or boisé.
The spirit is distilled entirely from Folle Blanche and aged in Gascony oak casks. L'Encantada is an independent bottler that sources its casks from small farming estates.
The nose offers dried fruit, toffee and vanilla over toasted oak, tobacco leaf and elderflower. The palate is slightly dry, with cocoa, iris root, caramelised sugar, plum, apricot and dark chocolate, and well-integrated oak. The finish is long and warming, with leather, honey and a dry spice thread.
