This is a 40 year old Speyside single malt, selected by La Maison du Whisky for its Artist collection. It was distilled in 1979 at Miltonduff, using the distillery's former Lomond stills, a style of distillation that ended in 1981.
The whisky matured in a single bourbon barrel and was bottled at 50.3% ABV.
The nose offers acacia honey, candied pear, raisins, beeswax and jasmine, then nutmeg, liquorice and praline. The palate is layered, with ripe orchard fruit, floral honey, almond milk, maple syrup and fresh herbs. The finish is long and velvety, with vanilla custard, chamomile, aniseed, light oak and cocoa.
