Lagavulin 11 Year Old Sweet Peat is an Islay single malt matured for eleven years exclusively in first fill American oak ex-bourbon casks. It was released in February 2026 as the first new permanent Lagavulin expression in nine years, and is bottled at 43%.
Master Blender Dr Stuart Morrison built it to present peat in a more approachable way, with the first fill wood adding vanilla, caramel and honeyed sweetness around the smoke.
The nose is sweet, with peat smoke, sea foam, honey, vanilla and a little apple and citrus peel. On the palate, gentle sweetness and salinity give way to bonfire smoke and oak spice. The finish is long, with peat smoke, dark chocolate and soft vanilla.
