This is a 12-year-old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled for the 2022 Feis Ile festival. It is the first Feis bottling under the new Distillery Manager, Jordan Paisley, and this one is bottle 2935 of 6,336.
The whisky was matured in refill American oak hogsheads and then finished in virgin American oak casks.
It is described as unusually rich, full-bodied and sweet-spicy, with powerful oak spice that seems to hold the smoke in check until water lets it come forward.
