Lagavulin – 12 Year Old Legends Untold Special Release 2021 (70cl, 56.5%)

Lagavulin 12 Year Old Legends Untold is a 2021 Special Release single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 56.5% abv. It is described as a classic Lagavulin in which intensity, saltiness and sweetness balance, with perfumed wood smoke rising around them. The nose is clean, fresh and maritime, with sea air and Himalayan salt on top, supported by smoke-dried Lapsang Souchong tea and mineral salts. Beneath come cocoa powder, dried seaweed and a squeeze of lemon zest, with the smell of wood smoke from a distant bonfire on the shore.
