Lagavulin 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle as part of the Legends Untold Special Release 2021. It is described as a classic Lagavulin in which intensity, saltiness and sweetness balance as perfumed wood smoke rises around them.
The nose is clean, fresh and maritime, with sea air, Himalayan salt and smoke-dried Lapsang Souchong tea. Beneath these sit mineral salts, cocoa powder, dried seaweed and a squeeze of lemon zest, with wood smoke like a distant bonfire on the shore.
