This is Lagavulin 12 Year Old from Islay, the 2022 Special Release, in a 70cl bottle at 57.3% vol. For this edition the whisky was drawn from particularly smoky casks together with fresh oak casks.
The aim was a Lagavulin with rich, peaty aromas that play between saltiness, spice and smoke over a deep sweetness.
The colour is a bright gold. The nose has a fresh note reminiscent of sea air. The palate is aromatic, with caramel sweetness and intense spice, and the finish is very long.
