This is Lagavulin 12 Year Old from the 2022 Special Release series from Diageo, in a 70cl bottle at 57.3% abv. The 2022 releases follow the theme of Elusive Expressions, with mythical creatures on the labels. The whisky was matured in new oak and in smoky reserve casks, and a drop of water is said to bring out its sweeter aromas.
Gold in colour, it has a nose of citrus and dried fruit with salty sea notes. The palate is sweetish, with lemon and a light saltiness. The finish is medium in length, with sweet fruit and maritime notes.
