Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was released for the 200th anniversary of the Lagavulin distillery, and its eight years recall the visit of the whisky writer Alfred Barnard around 1880.
The whisky matured for eight years in American and European refill oak casks.
The nose is fresh with lemon, chocolate and green tea. The palate is light and sweet, turning a little smoky towards the end. The finish is long and smoky, with the smoke growing stronger as it fades.
