Lagavulin Distillers Edition 2022 is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Classic Malts of Scotland range, which has been issued together since 1987.
The whisky first matured in used American and European casks. It was then finished in charred American oak casks and in Pedro Ximenez sweet wine casks.
Dried fruit and raisins lead the nose, with spicy, earthy notes and fine peat smoke. On the palate the dried fruit sits on salty earth, held together by peat smoke. The finish is long and smoky, with lively spice.
