The fourth release in the Offerman Edition, a Lagavulin collaboration with Nick Offerman. It is an 11 year old Islay single malt, matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry oak.
The whisky was then finished for a little over eight months in casks that previously held Caribbean rum, an idea drawn from Offerman's time in Puerto Rico. It is bottled at 46% (92 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is sweet smoke over chili pepper and citrus, with crème brûlée, browned butter and honey. The palate brings smoke, black pepper and chili heat against lemon, lime, vanilla and salt.
