This is an 11 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, a limited edition bottled at 51.7% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
The whisky was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The result sets dark, treacle-like sweetness against Lagavulin's heavy peat and coastal smoke.
On the nose it offers peat smoke and sea salt over dark raisin, treacle and a coastal iodine note. The palate brings heavy peat smoke, vanilla, concentrated Pedro Ximénez fruit and dark chocolate, and the finish is long and smoky with lingering sweetness.
