Laizhou Blender 22 Chinese Blended Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Blender 22 is a Chinese single blended whisky from the Laizhou Distillery, combining malt and grain whisky made at the same site. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, with no colouring added. The name refers to two distillations in pot stills and two maturation phases, including a move into bourbon casks. The distillery, in Qionglai in Sichuan province, runs both pot and column stills. Its first whisky bottlings reached the market in 2024. The nose offers green apple, crisp pear, light caramel, honey and cream, with a faint cedar note. The palate is sweet and silky with apple juice and a touch of citrus, and the finish is full and silky with a subtle bitterness.
