Laizhou Bourbon Cask Peated is a Chinese single malt from the Laizhou Distillery in Qionglai City, Sichuan. It is made from medium-peated malted barley and matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose has smoky spice and hints of smoked bacon with creamy vanilla, cream, peach and lemon. On the palate, floral honey and a fine mineral saltiness come with soft peat smoke. The finish is long, with nutty chocolate, green wood and a smoky sweetness.
