Laizhou Fino Sherry Cask is a Chinese single malt from Laizhou Distillery in Qionglai, Sichuan. It matures only in first fill casks that previously held Fino sherry from D.O. Jerez, a sherry aged biologically under a layer of flor yeast.
It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose brings cinnamon, cedar, raisins, plum jam, salted plums, jujubes, brown sugar and toasted dried fruit. The palate joins gentle sweetness and spice with caramel, liquorice and clear woody spice. Liquorice and spicy oak linger in the finish.
