Lakeview Single Estate Whiskey 2nd Edition (70cl, 46%)

Lakeview Single Estate Whiskey 2nd Edition is an Irish single pot still whiskey at 46%, in a 70cl bottle. Its mash contains malted and unmalted barley and oats. The barley comes from the family estate by Lough Leane and was partly malted in small batches. Great Northern Distillery distilled it to the specification of Wayward Irish Spirits, and it then returned to Killarney to mature. Most of the maturation took place in former Premier Grand Cru Bordeaux casks. Ten percent had a three-month finish in casks that previously held peated whiskey. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose shows cherries, honey and spice. The palate is full and honey-sweet, with fruit and a very light smoke. The long finish carries fruit and spice with gentle smoke.
