Lambay – Single Malt Reserve Series #1

This is Batch 01 of the Lambay Reserve Cask Series, a three-part collection of Irish single malts. It was released in 2022 in a run of 10,000 bottles. The whiskey is triple distilled and matured in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in both first-fill and second-fill ex-cognac casks. Water from the Trinity Well on Lambay is added to bring it to strength. This batch uses a higher share of single malt matured on the island, which brings more intense, salty notes alongside soft smoke. The nose offers oak, light smoke, spice and tobacco. The palate is rich, moving from oak and tobacco towards black pepper with salty, smoky notes. The finish holds rich oak and pepper with a hint of herbs and brine.
