Laphroaig 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is the classic ten-year-old from a distillery known for medicinal malts.
The whisky is full-bodied and smoky, with a residual sweetness and a hint of salt among seaweedy, peaty character.
The nose has big smoky peat, spice, liquorice, salt, iodine and plasters. Seaweed leads on the palate, with vanilla ice cream, TCP, firm oak and cardamom, black pepper and chilli. The finish is big and drying, with savoury, tarry notes and iodine.
