This is Batch 17 of Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength, an Islay single malt bottled in November 2023 at 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose is strong, with medicinal peat smoke, lemon zest, warm apple sauce, grilled meat, pineapple and salt. The palate is full, mixing earthy and fruity flavours: iodine, pepper and spices alongside stewed apple, candied fruit and honey. The finish is medium in length, with maritime notes, tar, old leather and spice.
