Laphroaig – 18 Year Old (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig 18 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Islay in Scotland, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent 18 years maturing in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The barley is dried over a peat fire, which gives the whisky its smoky character, and distillation takes place in copper pot stills at the Laphroaig distillery. The nose is smoky peat and sweet vanilla, with soft caramel and gooseberry. The palate brings spicy cinnamon and freshly baked apple pie, and the finish is rich and fruity, with fresh mint and peaty undertones.
