Laphroaig – 20 Year Old 2006 Chairman's Choice Collection Old Particular (70cl, 48.4%)

This is a 20 year old Laphroaig, distilled in 2006 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range at 48.4%, in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Chairman's Choice Collection and was selected personally by Fred Laing, the company's chairman. The edition is limited to 420 bottles, and it is bottled without colouring and without chill filtration. The nose is medicinal and maritime, with heavy peat. On the palate, barley sugar meets creosote, soot and soft tar. The finish holds phenols and smoke, yet stays fine and controlled.
