A 25 year old Laphroaig bottled in 2007 and marked as the 2007 1st Release. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 2,500 bottles were filled.
The nose has subdued smoke with vanilla, a hint of lemon, sherry and dark fruit such as prunes, figs and dates, with cardboard and furniture polish alongside. The palate is light-bodied and oily, lightly spicy, with vanilla, caramel and wood spice. The peat is well integrated and balanced by sherry sweetness.
The finish is long and smoky, with seaweed to the fore and a touch of cardboard.
