Laphroaig 25 Year Old Cask Strength is the 2023 edition of this Islay single malt, an official bottling at 47.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from barley malted and dried over Islay peat, with water from Kilbride Dam, and matured for 25 years in American ex-bourbon casks. It is bottled without chill filtration.
The nose is sweet pear drops, green apple, pudding and warm pastries, balanced by smoked ham and cinnamon. The palate offers pineapple, peach and mango, with white pepper and grilled orange peel. The finish is long and smooth, with developed smoky notes.
