This is a 25 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, bottled at cask strength as the 2020 edition.
The whisky was matured in two kinds of cask: European Oloroso sherry casks and former American bourbon barrels. The sherry casks bring sweet sherry and oak aromas, while the bourbon casks add creamy, soft and sweet ones.
The long maturation is said to have made the whisky particularly soft.
