Laphroaig 30 Year Old 2024 Release is an Islay single malt matured for thirty years in a combination of American oak and European ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle.
This is the first release in a new annual batch series, with each batch selected around a chosen balance of casks. The malt is made from Scottish barley and dried over peat smoke.
The nose combines medicinal peat, sweet sherry, vanilla custard and a hint of sea air. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with smoke, ripe fruit, spice and honeyed sweetness. The finish is very long and warming, with lasting smoke, dry oak and a subtle maritime note.
