This is Laphroaig 33 Year Old, Chapter One: Donald Johnston, a cask strength limited edition with a sherry cask finish, bottled at 43.8%. It opens a series honouring the people who shaped Laphroaig. Donald Johnston was the elder of the two brothers who founded the distillery in 1815. Illustrations by the British artist Bill Bragg appear on the packaging and in an accompanying booklet. The whisky matured in American oak that previously held bourbon and in European oak hogsheads that held sherry. It is described as combining sweet dessert notes, gentle sherry and spicy peat smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
