A 33-year-old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 1987 and matured fully in ex-bourbon barrels. It is Book Three, Source Protector, the third release in a series of aged Laphroaig celebrating Ian Hunter, the last of the Johnston family to own and manage the distillery, which he did between 1908 and 1944.
This chapter tells of his fight to protect the Kilbride Stream, the distillery's source of water. Each release in the series is set into a book that records part of his story.
Laphroaig's characteristic peatiness comes through creamy liquorice notes. It is presented in a 70cl bottle.
