This is a Laphroaig single malt from Islay, independently bottled by Decadent Drinks as Whiskyland Chapter Twenty Three. It was distilled in 1991 and matured for 34 years in a refill hogshead, then bottled at its natural cask strength of 48.3% ABV. Only 182 bottles were filled.
The nose combines seaweed, lemon zest, guava and papaya with soft peat smoke, candle wax and a medicinal hint. The palate is oily, with ripe tropical fruit, pink grapefruit, brine, green olives and earthy peat smoke. The finish is long, with woodsmoke, sea salt, citrus peel and herbal, medicinal notes.
