Laphroaig 35 Year Old is the second edition in the Strong Characters series from Islay, released in 2026 in a 70cl bottle at 43.8% ABV. The edition pays tribute to Dugald Johnston, son of Laphroaig co-founder Donald Johnston, and comes in an illustrated box with artwork by Bill Bragg.
The whisky matured entirely in ex-bourbon American white oak, in barrels and hogsheads, and is bottled without added colour.
The nose is typically described as freshly baked pastry, sweet apple and cherry. On the palate come gentle smoke, warming spices and a delicate hint of raisin. The long finish brings aniseed, a touch of pepper and peat smoke.
