Laphroaig – Elements 1.0 (70cl, 58.6%)

Laphroaig Elements 1.0 is an Islay single malt and the first release in a new series from the distillery. The series experiments with rearranging and strengthening the elements that define Laphroaig. This first bottling tests the limits of mashing and fermentation. It was made from two 5.5 tonne mashes and one 8.5 tonne mash, using a mix of cloudy and semi-cloudy wort. This brings out tropical fruit notes while keeping the phenolic smoke and maritime peat. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.6% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
