Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV.
The label gives 1815 as the year the distillery was founded, although the earliest documented date is 1826, when Donald Johnston founded it. The Johnston family ran it until 1954, when it passed to Bessie Williamson.
She sold the company to Long John in 1967 and continued to manage it until 1972. It went to Allied Distillers in 1975 and was sold to Fortune Brands in 2005.
