Laphroaig – Oak Select

Laphroaig Oak Select is a single malt from Laphroaig, on the south coast of Islay. The distillery is the first of the three Kildalton distilleries and one of the heavily peated southern Islay malts. Medicinal peat leads, with citrus and chocolate sweetness and soft barley behind it. The peat stays far enough back for lemon, green apple and mint to come through, and darker baking spice develops later. The finish is of medium length, with peat in sight until the end.
