Laphroaig Oak Select is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky matured in five different types of cask. It begins in ex-bourbon barrels, then moves through new American oak, quarter casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks. The whiskies from these casks are then married together.
The aim is a single malt that is easy to drink while still offering complexity.
Its character is described as a subtle blend of peat smoke and glowing oak embers, with a lingering sweetness.
