Laphroaig – Octave 2004 Duncan Taylor (55.1%)

This is a 14-year-old Laphroaig from Islay, bottled by Duncan Taylor in its Octave series at 55.1% ABV. Only 80 bottles were filled. The whisky finished its maturation in a small sherry octave cask. Classic Laphroaig in character, it is described as peaty and smoky, with quayside timber, smoked oysters, salt and a medicine-cabinet note. The sherry octave brings fruit, spice and sweetness, which sit in balance with the peat and smoke.
