Laphroaig – Port Wood Casks Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig Port Wood Casks is an Islay single malt made for global travel retail, with no age statement. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is first matured in charred first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then moved into casks that previously held ruby Port. Laphroaig describes it as the fruitiest whisky in its travel-exclusive collection. The nose is dark chocolate, menthol, pink peppercorn, toasted peach, charred marshmallow and plum jam. On the palate, honey, red berries and vanilla meet concentrated peat smoke and seaweed. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, dark fruit sweetness and gentle spice.
