Laphroaig PX Cask is an Islay single malt matured in three stages: ex-Bourbon barrels, quarter casks and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. It is bottled at 48% in a 1 litre bottle.
The malted barley is peated, and the distillery uses water from the Kilbride Stream. The cask combination sets Laphroaig's peat smoke alongside the sweetness of the sherry wood.
Raisin, sultana and liquorice are the main flavours, with peat smoke and seaweed. Nutty marzipan aromas come through when a splash of water is added.
